Storykeep privacy policy
Storykeep keeps your information on your device. We do not run a server that collects or stores it, we do not sell it, and we show no ads.
What Storykeep keeps, and where
Storykeep stores the stories you save, your library, reading positions, searches and settings on your device, inside the app's own storage or in folders you choose. We (Michael's Crossing International, LLC) cannot see this information.
Stories on the web are written by other people. We do not control their content or the websites that publish them.
Optional cloud sync and backup
If you turn on sync or backup, Storykeep copies your data to your own Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive account, so you can use it on your other devices. You sign in directly with Google or Microsoft; we never see your password. Storykeep asks only for access to the files it creates itself, not your other files. The copy lives in your account, under Google's or Microsoft's privacy policy, and you can delete it at any time. You can also save a plain backup file on your device instead.
Optional features that contact other services
These happen only when you use the feature. The service you contact handles that information under its own privacy policy; we do not receive it.
- Story sites. When you search or open a story, Storykeep contacts the story website or public library directly from your device, the same way a web browser would. That site can see your device's internet address and the pages you request, under its own privacy policy.
- Web search. If you use “Search the web for stories,” your search words go to the search engine you chose. SafeSearch is on by default.
Permissions
- Internet: to search for and download the stories you ask for.
- Files you pick: to import or export stories and backups.
Purchases
Storykeep is sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment; we never receive your card details. Google shares limited order information with us (such as the order number, the item, and your country or region) so we can handle refunds and taxes.
Crash reports
Storykeep contains no analytics or advertising code. If you allow it in your Android settings, Google may share anonymous crash and performance reports with us through Google Play. They do not contain your books, records or other content.
Children
Storykeep is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app keeps information only on the device, we hold no children's information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information (for example by email), contact us and we will delete it.
Deleting your data
- On your device: delete items inside the app, or clear the app's storage (Android Settings > Apps > Storykeep > Storage > Clear storage), or uninstall the app.
- In your cloud: delete the Storykeep folder or files in your Google Drive or OneDrive.
- Remove access: disconnect Storykeep in its Settings, or remove it at myaccount.google.com/permissions (Google) or account.live.com/consent/Manage (Microsoft).
- Emails to us: ask us at support@michaelscrossing.com and we will delete your messages.
We have no account for you to delete, because Storykeep does not create one.
Security
Your data is protected by your device's own security. Connections to Google and Microsoft use encryption (HTTPS). Keep your device locked and your cloud accounts protected.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date. Important changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
